Football and 3 Months Old

It hasn't been a super
eventful week,
just a few fun things
here and there.
First up,
Tyler and I were able
to go to BYU's home opener.
It happened to be on
September 11,
so there were a ton of
cool things they did to
honor the memory of that day.

This flag was huge and it
was really cool
that the players helped the
military personnel
hold it.

One of the things
they have at the games
is the Cannon Crew,
which is a group
of ROTC guys who
come out and do
push-ups every time
we score.
So if the score is 7 then
they do 7 push-ups,
but when we score again and make
it 14 then they do 14
push-ups, and so on
and so forth.
Kyle is part of this crew
so I tried to get a picture.
I think he might be the one
on the end on the right.

The game was really fun!
It was a night game
so it got a little
chilly by the end.
But we won!
So far BYU is undefeated,
and I hope they can keep the ball
rolling!

This past Friday
Ellory hit the 3 month mark!!
I can't believe how fast
time is flying by.
She has the sweetest smile
and she is still just so
little.
I just love her to death.

HOW CUTE IS SHE??????

Also this week I
introduced Kale to computer
games.
They're the awesome
learning games on pbskids.org,
so I'm not like a bad
mom or anything.
He LOVES it.
He really concentrates
and it's amazing how
quickly he figures
the games out.
I'm so proud of how
smart Kale is.

And here is some more
proof that my
true talent in life
is to make
the most adorable
kids on the planet:

I just realized that in the
above picture
Ellory is giving me the bird.
But the smile looks
so genuine!
I could be in real trouble
with this one.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Wow, what a great birthday I had!
I was absolutely spoiled
rotten and I loved
every minute of it!

The day started with church at 9.
My sister-in-law, Laura,
wished me a happy birthday
right away,
and so did her kids Addy and Kolby.
Great start!
Then, later at church, my mother-in-law,
Pam, told me happy birthday
and gave me a birthday card.
The day just got even better from there.

Kale has been excited about
my "secret surprise present"
since Friday.
Tyler decided to show it to
him while I was out.
Kale did a great job not actually
saying what the present was though!
So, when we got home from
church and changed our clothes,
he was super excited to
help Tyler get my presents.
It was sooo cute.
Also, when we got home from church
there was a card
hanging on our front door
from my father-in-law, Doug.
Sneaky guy!

Anyway, I was ordered to sit
on the couch and wait for
my presents.
I was more than willing to comply.
Then they brought me TWO bags
of presents!
Tyler got me some new workout clothes (Hurray!!)
and a really cool case for
my jewelry and makeup.
They are both extremely thoughtful
gifts and I love them!

After the opening of the presents I
wanted to take a picture with
my adorable kids
and our whole family:

Don't I have the cutest little family??
Ellory's little dress
was just so adorable,
I had to take some extra pics of her.
Plus, she wasn't really
looking in the family pictures.

Kale took this one:

Ellory makes the cutest faces
now:

Wasn't her little dress so cute??
Then, Tyler made me my
birthday dinner.
I requested homemade pulled pork
sandwiches, coleslaw, and
homemade french fries.
He knocked it out of the park!
I seriously think that's the best
pulled pork I've ever eaten.
I can't wait to have some
for lunch today!
After dinner,
I got a call from my
big brother Jake!
He's so sweet
to remember my birthday
even though he had
a busy week of drill
going on.
It was great to talk
to him and I can't
wait to see him at Thanksgiving!
Then, we just relaxed for a bit
and did our separate things
for a while.
Then, someone knocked on the door.
It was Kolby and Addy bringing
us some banana chocolate chip
cookies!
They were delicious!
Then, not much later, there was
ANOTHER knock on the door.
It was Kyle!
He had brought me a gift from
him and Heather.
It was running tights (I'm sensing a theme)
and Kit-Kats!
Just perfect.
Heather couldn't come because
she was sick (sad day!)
We were sitting visiting with Kyle,
when there was ANOTHER knock on the door.
It was my cousin Kristen!!
I was sooo surprised to see her.
We were sitting around
visiting when Kristen said,
"So who else is coming?"
I was so confused.
What the heck was she talking about?
It was then that I figured out
that Tyler had secretly
invited them to come over for
cake and ice cream!
What a stud of a husband,
am I right or am I right?
Corey and Jordan and Kendall
couldn't come with Kristen
because they were sick, too.
(Super sad day!)
Then, there was ANOTHER knock
on the door.
It was my wonderful friend Birttany!
She brought me an
awesome green water bottle
that had a bedazzled B on it,
and she'd filled it with Starbursts.
Nailed it!
Then, these wonderful friends of mine
sang me Happy Birthday
and I blew out some candles:

Kale helped me blow out
my candles,
of course:

And then we ate!
It was so awesome to have
them come visit
me on my birthday,
especially when their families
were sick!
Then, Tyler got a nice surprise!
We had bought an antenna
for our TV Saturday
and discovered we got a
couple of great channels,
but it didn't appear that we were
going to get NBC.
But then, Tyler was going through
channels and discovered that
we DO get NBC and he was
going to be able to watch
the Denver game!
He was so excited and I was so happy for him!
Later my good friend Rachel,
who I left behind in Ellensburg,
called me to wish me a
happy birthday
and catch up for a bit.
It was so great talking to her!
I miss her and her family so much
and just wish they had moved with us.
I also talked to my parents for a bit.
My dad sang me happy birthday
and I told them how my
day had gone so far.
Kale came in and talked to them
for a bit, too.
I love listening to him
talk on the phone.
It's adorable.

Phew! That about sums it all up!
I got tons of text messages all
day wishing me a happy birthday
and cards all week from my
Aunt Aethea, my grandma, my Uncle Rich
and Aunt Celeste, and my parents!
I was so spoiled
and I just feel so much love
from everyone.
Especially Tyler.
He just did everything he could
to make it the best day ever.
I love him!

Oh, I just got an email
from Elder Dain Gerber,
and in it he sent a recording
of him and his companion,
(maybe companions?)
singing me Happy Birthday in
English,
then Spanish,
and then Portuguese.
I am seriously so loved!

Getting Adjusted

Well, it seems an age
since we moved.
Time goes by way too quickly.
Currently we are trying
to fill our time with
fun stuff because Tyler doesn't
start work until the last week
in August.
One of the greatest things
about Utah is that there
are tons of fun FREE things
to do with kids.
So, let's get to it, shall we?
We've taken Kale to the splashpad
in Provo a couple of times already.
We love it!

Here's a funny story.
So earlier in the week
Kyle and Heather asked
us if we wanted to
hang out on Saturday.
Of course we said yes
and we decided we'd go cook
s'mores and look at some fish.
Well, then I got a text from
Heather asking if we'd like to
hike Stuart Falls,
and I decided to insert a word
that didn't exist in her text
and caused a lot of confusion.
I thought I read that they wanted
to hike Friday and do s'mores
on Saturday.
So, we got Pam to baby-sit Ellory
and headed over to Kyle and
Heather's apartment.
I texted Heather that we were on
our way,
and then I got the response:
"Did you mean to send that to me? Aren't
we hanging out tomorrow?"
Hahahaha!
We got it figured out though.
Since we were already out
and had a babysitter,
we took Kale to Bridal Veil Falls.

The water was sooo cold.
Like so cold that
it kinda hurt.
Kale really didn't like it.
He'd forget though and
put his feet back in
the water,
and then freak out all over again.
Silly boy!

S'mores with Kyle and Heather
was really fun!
They also came over
for dinner before s'mores.
They are a couple of cool kids.

Kale is loving Aunt Heather.
She is so good with him.
And anyone who makes him a
s'more automatically earns his love!

Tyler and Heather were the
master marshmallow roasters.

Ellory chilled in here
the majority of the time:

Kale like eating the
marshmallow straight off the stick:

Eventually Ellory decided she
wanted to come out and play.

I love this picture!
Kale's and Heather's faces are
the best!

Kale loves his Uncle Kyle!!

 Tyler had a meeting
to go to for church.
So, Kale and Ellory and I skyped with
Nana and Grandpa Gerber.
While skyping Kale decided to
put one of our broken lamp shades on his
head.
And then he got stuck.
Being the awesome mom that I am,
I made him let me take a
picture before I cut him out of it:

We got to go spend most
of our day at Janie and Mark's house.
Kale is in love with that place.
He didn't want to go
home.
Josh, Rubie and Gracie
were so cute with Kale
and Ellory!

We went to the Provo pool
one day,
for over 5 HOURS.
It was amazing.
Kale had  BLAST.
Ellory slept almost the entire time.
We took Kale down the really
big slides.
When Tyler took Kale down
he wasn't ready for
how fast the slide was
so it knocked Tyler back and so
he laid down.
He said that Kale
was yelling at him that he couldn't
lay down the whole
way down.
And then at the bottom they
both went all the way under
water so Kale
was lecturing Tyler the whole
way up the stairs and in
line that he couldn't
lay down and that Kale couldn't go under the
water because he couldn't close
his mouth.
You'll have to have Tyler tell
you the story,
it's hilarious.

My very good friend, Marlee,
is in town so we
met up with our kids at the
Bean Museum,
had lunch at the Creamery
and then took the kids to
a playground.
It was soooo awesome to see
her and to finally meet
June.
Kale and Ivy played so
well together, it was
adorable.

We make really adorable kids :)

 And here are some cute
pics of our kids:

And that's it!
Tyler starts work a week from today.
Life keeps moving along!
