We LOVE October!

October is the best.
Kale's birthday.
Fall weather.
Halloween.
Love it.
Look at these two
cute cuddly kids:

We went to Old Navy one day,
and this was there for some reason:

Ellory's hair is long enough
for pig-tails now,
and I could just die:

Kale thinks they are,
"So. Adorable."

Grandma Pam sent Kale
a birthday package,
and inside there were also
some Halloween treats!
Kale and Ellory each got a book
(which they love and we have read
every day since we got them)
plus glow sticks we are saving
for trick-or-treating,
and candy.
Thanks Grandma Pam!!

One day Kale was watching Ninjago
and decided he needed to be
a Ninja, too.
We put his Ninja costume on
and he jumped and punched
and kicked his little heart
out as he watched his show.
Then, we went to pick Tyler up from work.
Kale had really tired himself out:

Ellory kept trying to wake him up.
She just kept yelling, "Baaaaah!"
I think she was trying to say Brother.

Ellory makes the cutest messes:

And she drinks water cuter
than anyone I know.

Kale's smile is the best,
especially when we play outside:

So recently I started watching
a little boy 3 days a week for a few hours
for a girl in my ward.
His name is Carter and he's
a little cutey.
Kale looks forward to the days
he comes over!

Before I move on to Kale's birthday,
I just have to comment on
the weather here.....
I LOVE it.
It gets nice and cold and night
so you can cuddle in your blankets,
but it warms up still
during the day, but only
to the low 70's - perfection.

Anyway, someone turned 4 last week!!

When he came out and saw the decorations,
he stood there staring at it with
his hand over his heart, and then said,
"I can't believe it. I'm just so happy!"
This kid.
He had pancakes with sprinkles
for breakfast,
and then anxiously awaited the
arrival of Carter.
They had a lot of fun.
Carter brought him a present!
This really cool car
that drives off after you push a button.
They took some time to
color while watching
Curious George:

Ellory colored while the
boys played with balloons.

Then, it was train time:

 And Ellory watched Word World
(her favorite show).

They played with the noise makers
Nana Gerber sent:

Kale's friends Lyda and Emmy
also came over for
a bit to play and brought
him some presents.
I forgot to take a picture though!
And we sent a group picture
to Tyler since he was
in St. George with the football team.

That night,
we blew up the air mattress
and had our campout!

And Kale got to have some Oreos :)

Saturday came and it was time
for a real celebration!
Tyler brought home Kale's birthday present.....

A bike!!!

Ellory was so happy for Kale!

Kale was over the moon.
It was so fun to make him so happy!

Then it was time for birthday dinner:
Papa Murphy's Pan Pepperoni Pizza
and Cheesy Bread.
YUM.

And then we opened up his presents
from everyone else:

Josh, Rubie and Gracie sent him
cars with candy, and
he just loved that!
Also, the day before Laura, Kolby and Addy
called and sang him happy birthday.
He thought that was the bees-knees!
He got a card with money from
Great-Grandma Estes, and after
he opened it he said,
"That is so nice!"
And then it was time for
the box from Grandma Pam:

Duplo Legos!!!!
He was thrilled.
Thank you Grandma!

Next was the package from Nana and Grandpa Gerber:

More Duplo Legos!

Look at that comfy jacket
and that cozy hat!

So, when my mom asked me what
to get Kale for his birthday
I told her that he had been asking and asking
for a trumpet, so if she could make
that happen he'd be thrilled.
And Nana found a way!

Big Hero 6!

Kale loves that movie.
They also sent him Big Hero 6 action figures.
 He also got some
great clothes,
Paw Patrol shoes that light
up when he walks,
Monkeys in a Barrel,
puzzles,
Batman pajamas,
and a book about David and Goliath.
He loved it all!
Thanks Nana and Grandpa!
P.S. The trumpet is SUPER annoying,
so, thanks for that..

After presents we headed out
to take the bike for a spin!

He did great!

Ellory thought it was great:

Look at him go!

We had a good time!

It sprinkled on us a bit.
Good thing we had our hoods:

Then, we headed inside for cake.
Kale had asked me to make him
an Oreo Ice Cream cake.
So, I made the one my mom makes:

We sang Happy Birthday to him
and he blew out his candles:

Then, he asked me to put strawberries
on top of his piece:

Not to toot my own horn,
but that cake was DELICIOUS.

After cake he put on his new
Batman pajamas and played
with his new legos to his hearts content:

He loves those legos!

The following Monday when Carter
came over, those boys
were playing so hard,
Kale worked up a sweat:

Little buddies:

After Carter went home,
we to the bike out.
Kale had an accident.
He flipped over his handlebars
and landed on his chin:

Poor kid!
He's still scared of his bike.
He'll get on it,
but he constantly hits the breaks.
I feel so bad!
He'll get braver.

Ellory plays on the sticks
while Kale rides his bike:

Yesterday my friend Amy
invited us to go with her
and her kids and her mom to a
pumpkin patch.
And you know I can't resist
a pumpkin patch.

This is Emmy:

This is Lyda:

The whole place was really cute!
and FREE.

Switch!

Climbing hay bales of course.

There were some animals
to pet:

My kids are like me
and prefer to not touch
the stinky animals.

And there was a duck racing game.
That was Kale's favorite:

These were cute little tractor bikes.
Kale and Lyda said they were
too hard to ride

And ropes to try and ring around
the long-horns.

And a corn maze!!!!!!

Kale took this picture:

And Ellory just followed him around:

This place is known for it's
apple donuts, pumpkin donuts and apple cider.
So we had to try some.
They were all DELICIOUS.
My favorite were the pumpkin donuts.
So. Good.
I love all things pumpkin.
Except pumpkin pie.
It's a texture thing.
But it was just a really fun day!
It's been so nice to become friends
with Amy and her family.
They are great people.
I'm grateful to be able to
find good friends everywhere I go!

Well, that's it, for now.
It is October, and the weather is
beautiful, so there
will be plenty of more outings
and pictures.
Thank you again to all of
you who made Kale's birthday
a special day!
