Life.
Isn't it a wonderful thing?
You just never know
what's going to happen next.
And, on that note,
let's look at some pictures.
For a good stretch we had some
absolutely gorgeous weather.
And one day it was a bit
on the windy side.
So, we ventured to the
Dollar Store and
got ourselves a cheap-o
kite.
And then proceeded to have
a BLAST flying it
at the park.

Kale picked it up right away.
And he was really good at it.
He would tell me to try and
catch it and then make it
go up and down and
all over the place.
It was awesome.
See that blue thing on the right
in the above picture?
That's Ellory, sleeping
in her carseat.
Look at that smile!
That's the smile of a little boy
enjoying life.
Just for future reference,
this was our kite:
They only had girl kites
left at the store.
It was either this one,
a different princess one,
Minnie Mouse,
or Doc McStuffins.
I let Kale choose.
I wish he would have chosen Doc McStuffins,
but what are you gonna do?
Another one of these days,
we went and had a picnic
at the park.
I recently purchased some
hazelnut spread for Kale
since he can't have peanut butter.
And he loves it!
So he had a hazelnut and jelly sandwich:
Ellory had pieces of bread
and crackers:
And I had PB&J.
Duh.
That day we ended up getting
rained on,
but the picnic was fun while it lasted!
As you all know,
we recently celebrated
Mother's Day.
Mine was wonderful!
Tyler was traveling for
work but he got home around 3.
But before that,
we got to video chat with
Dain!
It was great.
I can't believe he's going to be home
so soon.
After Tyler got home,
we headed to Laura's house
to celebrate as a family.
We watched Pam open
up her presents:
And then the kids played.
Hard.
When we went home,
Tyler and Kale gave me
some presents!
Kale had made me a card.
(Adorable!)
And Tyler got me lotion, body spray and shower gel
from Bath and Body Works!
He also got me a really cool
picture on canvas.
It's a picture of Seattle that
he took from an airplane.
I absolutely LOVE it.
So, Mother's Day was wonderful.
I was fully spoiled.
I'm so blessed to be the
mother to these two adorables!
So a few months ago,
my father-in-law was diagnosed
with stage 4 lung cancer.
Obviously, we are all making
a special effort to spend
as much time with
him as possible.
So, one night we all went
to his house and had
Family Home Evening together.
For those of you
who don't know what that is,
it's something we do
as members of our church
to strengthen our families.
It involves getting together as
a family one night a week
and singing songs,
saying prayers,
sharing a lesson about a gospel principle,
playing games,
and usually eating desserts.
It's really the best!
Anyway,
first we had some
delicious pizza
(thanks Laura and Clint!)
and then
we all crammed into Doug's
TV room,
and had a great time.
I played on my keyboard
while everyone sang.
Shane shared a great lesson.
We played a really
fun game Realyn found of Family Feud
with Mormon questions.
And then we had some
delicious ice cream sandwiches
(Thanks Janie and Mark!)
Family is just the best.
One day this past week
I went over to visit Doug
while Kale was having a playday
with Grandma Pam.
We put in the movie Anchor's Away
and for the first 10 minutes or so
Ellory just sat on Grandpa's lap
and bounced and clapped
with the music.
It was SO cute.
And that is about everything.
Life is pretty crazy
but it's also amazing.
I can't begin to say how blessed
I am.
Sorry to hear about your father-in-law :( Sending prayers!
